Project Description

Synergy Project Consultants, Inc. (Synergy) provided all labor, material, equipment and supervision necessary to perform all work required to enhance the existing gate arms and hydraulic bollards at the U.S. Marshals Courthouse at 525 Magoffin Ave. El Paso, TX building no. TX0319Z

Programmed existing system to fail safe instead of fail secure when the electrical power goes down or system resets. If power goes out or the program fails the bollards will be in the down position and the gate arm in the up position. This will allow vehicles to still enter the area before the second secure gate.

Synergy installed new tower sensors to the hydraulic bollards. The sensors were placed within the same area that the gate arms sensors are located. Sensors for bollards will not allow bollards to go up when a vehicle is in the path of the sensors. This feature also allowed the system to be fail safe.

Synergy’s sub-contractor, EGL Construction (teaming partner) also provided a communication module and HMI screen to collect 30 days of history data of all control operations. Our team successfully modified the PLC program and interfaced all of the security equipment systems. Synergy also worked very closely with the existing GSA facility maintenance contractor to make sure the electrical utilities were not interrupted during installation and testing procedures
